Computer Tune-Up

At Metro Computerworks, we believe that a computer should make your life easier. If your computer is causing you to stress from crashing or just general slowness, it probably needs a tune-up.

What is a tune-up?

In simple terms, a tune-up is an optimization of your computers operating system (Windows or macOS) and all of the programs that run on it. It starts with a check of your hard drive health, followed by a series of virus and malware scans with a number of industry tools and utilities. We then go through individually and look at each program and startup item to remove everything you don’t need. We then repair any issues with the drive and file system. The result is a computer that runs like new!

How long does it take?

Depending on the severity and damage to your system from the viruses and malware, you should get your computer back in 1-3 business days.

How much does it cost?

Our tune-up is a flat rate $100. No hidden costs.

Do I need an appointment?

No! Our shop is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM. Saturday is usually 10-2, but we advise you to call ahead since only one of us is there and occasionally get called out on service calls.

Is the tech reachable?

Yes! Whether you leave your computer with Gene or Marcus, you will be able to get updates as frequently as you would like! Whether by phone, email, or text, we keep you in the loop so you can get back to work as soon as possible.

Is there anything else that can speed up my PC?

The short answer is yes. Most computers even now come with traditional hard drives. The single biggest upgrade for any of those computers is to install a Solid State Drive (SSD). Check out our Upgrades page.

If your computer is running Windows XP or Vista it is time to get a new computer! Security patches are no longer provided for those systems, making your data vulnerable to attack. Head over to our Custom Computers page or Call Us at 503-289-1986 to discuss a computer built exactly for what you do!
